How to Elope in Broken Bow | Jazmine + Taylors Intimate Elopement | Oklahoma Photographer
Jazmine + Taylor had a stunning intimate ceremony or elopement at Broken Bow, Oklahoma! Many people inquire about how to have an elopement there and how to plan an intimate ceremony with incredible views. Despite the rainy day, Jazmine and Taylor's wedding turned out beautifully as the rain cleared, allowing us to capture their special moment at the cabin. Below is some information on how to plan a Broken Bow Wedding!
Choose a Venue: Select a picturesque location for your ceremony such as a secluded spot in Beavers Bend State Park, by the Mountain Fork River, or at one of the many cabins or lodges in the area. When choosing a venue you can use apps like Airbnb or message the cabin via their social medias! Always obtaining permission or a permit is the most important thing when choosing a venue, If you’re just doing a ceremony with you and your significant other or plan to have more people it’s always important to message the venue/cabin to make sure that it is okay to have a event at the space. A lot of different broken bow cabins allow people to have intimate ceremonies at their cabins you just have to ask! You may have to pay a fee for using it for a event but ultimately it’s better to inform the owners than not to avoid fees.

Hire a Celebrant or Officiant: Find a person to officiate your ceremony. You can opt for a professional celebrant or ask a family member or friend to get ordained for the occasion. You can find a officiant on wedding groups that are willing to travel to your location to officiate you! How do you find a group like this you will type in Facebook your state which your having your wedding in then followed by wedding! for example: Oklahoma Weddings or Oklahoma Wedding Vendors! this will help you find not only a officiant but you can find others vendors on this group! make sure to specify your budget and tell your date!
Arrange for Photography: This is one of the most important things when doing an elopement or really any wedding, You can find many sources for wedding photographers like Zola, Facebook groups or Google! Make sure when talking to your wedding photographer that you discuss what type of location you would like if you’re going off the premise of your choose venue! When finding a photographer make sure they are also knowledgable of the area of Broken Bow! There are a lot of gorgeous places there so having someone that can direct you in the easiest or best spots to get the vibe you want is important. Broken bow is known for it’s beautiful water features but also is known for its tall trees that really give off almost a costal treelike vibe.
Plan the Reception: Decide whether you want to have a small reception or dinner following the ceremony. You can choose to dine at a local restaurant, cater a meal at your lodging, or arrange a picnic. There are many different local restaurants near broken bow that can be used but there are also places that are within a hour way that cater as well! Here are a couple of the places that are commonly used at the broken bow weddings that I have done. Abendigo's Mexican Food, BRICK & BREAD, Rock Bottom Boyz BBQ,Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Tap Room and Milano's Pizza.
Pick the time of year: Broken Bow is beautiful but the time of year you go does matter on the vibe you’re wanting to have. If you’re wanting a more fall look Late September-Early November tends to be a beautiful time where the leaves are just starting to shift, This is obviously based on average but weather can change the colors and leaves quickly so keep that in mind. Early June also seems to be a very popular Time there! I always tell my clients to look at the averages in a weather chart with weather from the years before to see if there is a trend! Remember the Marriage License: Obtain a marriage license from the local county clerk's office before your ceremony or you can obtain a marriage license and get married ahead of the wedding in your own local county! this is something I see very often. In Mccurtain county (where broken bow is) it’s $50 in cash only to get a marriage license and have to have two witnesses. Below is the link for information obtaining a marriage license in Broken Bow:

Embrace Nature: Since Broken Bow has a beautiful natural setting, consider incorporating elements from the surroundings into your ceremony, such as wildflowers, pinecones, or touches of wood and earthy tones.
